Darlene D. Martin

Darlene D. Martin, age 79, of Moulton, Iowa, died Thursday, June 14, 2012, at Mercy Medical Center Long Term Care in Centerville, Iowa. She was born the daughter of George and Ida Mae (Windland) Shiltz on July 21, 1932 in Mystic, Iowa. She attended Mystic Community Schools and later would receive her Nursing Degree.

On July 26, 1950, Darlene was united in marriage to Walter Martin in Mystic, Iowa. She was a Nurse at Davis County Hospital for over 25 years and later would work as a nurse in the Hospital's Long Term Care Unit. She was a member of the Moulton Christian Church in Moulton, Iowa

She was preceded in death by: her parents; her husband, Walter Martin on December 7, 2003; a grandson, Christopher Martin; a brother, Rollie Shiltz; and sisters, Velma, Velda, Betty and Georgia.

Darlene is survived by: her sons, Walter "Max" Martin and his wife, Diane of Portland, Oregon, Allen Wayne Martin and his wife, Mary of Sioux City, Iowa and Anthony Martin of Centerville, Iowa; and three grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, June 19, 2012 at 10 am at the Schmidt Family Funeral Home in Moulton, Iowa with Rev. Reg Higginbottom officiating. Burial will follow at the Sunset View Cemetery north of Moulton. Visitation will be held on Monday, June 18, 2012 from 2 pm until 8 pm at the funeral home with the family present from 6 pm until 8 pm.

Memorials can be made to the Moulton Christian Church and can be left at or mailed to the funeral home. The Schmidt Family Funeral Home of Moulton, Iowa has been entrusted with the arrangements for the Martin family and condolences can be sent at: schmidtfamilyfuneralhome.com
