William

William "Bill" Archer, also known as "The Bobby Williams Show", age 71 of Albia, Iowa, died on Monday, May 14, 2012 at the VA Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa. He was born the son of Walter L. and Geneva (Burton) Archer on July 5, 1940 in Moulton, Iowa. He received his education in the Moulton Community Schools and Indian Hills Community College.

Bill first served his country during the Korean Conflict with the United States Army from February in 1958 until his honorable discharge on April 23, 1961. On August 9, 1961, Bill was united in marriage to Mary Cunningham in Lohrville, Iowa, they were later divorced in 1967; then on May 14, 1978, Bill was united in marriage to Sue Blomme in Unionville, Missouri. He was a musician and played and sang music all over the Midwest. He was known as the Bobby Williams Show by many followers. He also served as the front man for Johnny Paycheck. He was a member of the Moulton United Methodist Church, Moulton American Legion, the VFW and the Eagle Lodge.

He was preceded in death by: his parents; a son, LeRoy Archer on August 16, 1982; a brother, Bobby Archer; and a nephew, Peachy Fowler.

Bill is survived by: his wife, Sue Archer of Albia, Iowa; daughters, Lisa Hedman and her husband, John of Ankeny, Iowa, Laura Archer of Ankeny, Iowa and Jaylene Thomas and her husband, Jay of Denver, Colorado; brothers, Max Archer of Centerville, Iowa, Kenneth and John Archer both of Ottumwa, Iowa and David Archer of Moulton, Iowa; a sister, Phyllis Fowler of Moulton, Iowa; six grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, May 19, 2012 at 10 am at the Schmidt Family Funeral Home in Centerville, Iowa with Rev. James Schwiezer officiating. Burial will be at a later date in the Harden Cemetery north of Moulton, Iowa. Visitation will be held on Friday, May 18, 2012 from 1 pm until 8 pm at the funeral home with the family present from 6 pm until 8 pm.
