Charles R. Hunzelman, age 83, of Marengo, Iowa, died Friday, May 4, 2012 at his nephew's home near Mystic, Iowa. He was born the son of Ernest and Virla (Dietze) Hunzelman on February 6, 1929 in Marengo, Iowa. He graduated from the Marengo High School.

On December 5, 1954, Charles was united in marriage to Ruth E. Begunck in Marengo. He served his country during the Korean Conflict and was Honorable Discharged on December 12, 1952 . Charles farmed in the Marengo, Iowa area for many years.

He was preceded in death by: his parents; and a sister, Marilyn Horne.

Charles is survived by: his wife, Ruth Hunzelman of Marengo, Iowa; a son, Rory Hunzelman and his wife, Diana of Phoenix, Arizona; daughters, Cynthia Luecht and her husband, Billy of Columbia, Missouri and Dana Wagner and her husband, Lyn of Marengo, Iowa; five grandchildren and three great, grandchildren; also niece and nephew, Frank and Deb Ollinger of Mystic, Iowa.

His body has been cremated and a graveside memorial service will be held at a later date at the Genoa Bluffs Cemetery in Marengo, Iowa.
